Here is a quick glance at the four courses in Southwest Washington that are hosting state golf tournaments this week. Practice rounds will be held today, with the first round Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m. Those making the cut will play the final round Wednesday. These events are free to spectators.

Camas Meadows

Camas

Class 4A boys

6,541 yards, par 36-36–72

• What should players expect?

“They’re going to have their hands full. The golf course is pretty difficult. A lot of bunkers. A lot of water hazards. They all need practice rounds to really get a feel for the golf course,” said Chris Garrison, general manager and PGA member. “Holes 10, 11, 12, and 13, I call that ‘The Gauntlet.’ Hazards all over the place. Long carries over water. That’s probably where the tournament’s going to come down.”

• What should fans expect?

“Just a fantastic setting. We’ll get to show off our whole nature thing. Golf is nature-intended. It’s just beautiful.”

Club Green Meadows

Vancouver

Class 4A girls

5,777 yards, par 36-37–73

• What should the players expect?

“It’s a fun play. It’s not really demanding in length, but there are a lot of boundaries, a lot of trees. It’s just sneaky. A lot of interesting bounces,” said Alan Reese, the director of golf at Club Green Meadows. “It’s hard to score well out here.”

• What should fans expect?

“The best players in the state,” Reese said. “To see something of this scope, we had to be a part of it. We were in it from the start.”

Tri-Mountain Golf Course

Ridgefield

Class 3A boys

6,600 yards, par 35-37–72

• What should golfer expect?

“If the wind blows, they should expect a true test of golf,” said Mike Bender, the general manager at the course. “Our greens are in fantastic condition. Every one of our golf courses (including the other state tournaments in the region) is prepared. Perfect playing conditions for the kids. No matter where they’re at, they’re going to have a good time.”

• What should fans expect?

“They’re going to get great views of all three mountains (weather permitting), green grass and good golf,” Bender said. “We’re bragging about the best hot dog in Clark County right now. The only thing we need on our side is the weather. If the weather cooperates, it’s going to be a huge success for the whole area.”

Lewis River Golf Course

Woodland

Class 3A girls

5,500 yards, par 35-38–73

• What should golfers expect?

“A very challenging course that makes them really be selective in their shot-making around the greens,” said Brian Allen, manager of golf. “A lot of undulations. Your short game is very important at Lewis River.”

• What should fans expect?

“Hopefully, sunshine. A very peaceful setting with great service. The outdoor experience with our patio. Very relaxing, fun, outdoor experience.”
