The Washington State Department of Ecology has approved La Center’s Shoreline Master Program update, which comes with an effective start date of May 15.
It’s the first update of La Center’s shoreline program since 1974 and revises the program’s goals, policies and regulations, shoreline environment designations and administrative procedures.
The updated program will guide development and habitat restoration along a portion of the East Fork Lewis River. The shoreline program also predesignates shorelines within
the city’s urban growth areas.
Locally, Clark County, Camas, Ridgefield, Vancouver and La Center have completed updating their programs.
Meanwhile, Washougal’s program update is still under way.
