Woodland police continue to take reports from people who have spotted a vehicle associated with two men suspected of trying to lure children in the area.
Over the past few days, two males in a dark SUV tried to pick up children walking to school in the Woodland area, asking if they want a ride, police said.
Woodland Intermediate School Principal Chris Wiseman sent a letter home with students Wednesday that told parents about the incident. In one case, a passenger in the vehicle tried to grab a child, but the child got away, the letter said.
Despite several reports made Thursday morning, police say they have no new investigative information.
They again cautioned parents to remind their children to be safe.
“We suggest that parents take this opportunity to talk with their children, especially those that walk to school, about the dangers of interacting with strangers,” police wrote in a news release. “Area residents and parents should continue to be vigilant and report anything suspicious to the police immediately.”
If anyone sees the vehicle, police ask them to write down the license number and report the SUV to police by calling 911 or the Woodland Police Station at 360-225-8981.
