College Notebook: Ludes presented pair of USF senior honors

Skyview grad noted for sports, grades, service, leadership

Senior volleyball player Leanna Ludes was presented with the female “Four Pillars Award” at the University of San Francisco’s Second Annual Hilltop Awards held Sunday in Memorial Gymnasium.

The award is presented annual to one male and one female senior athlete at USF “who attains the highest standards of athletic performance, academic achievement, community service and leadership,” according to the school’s web site.

The Skyview High School graduate was also honored by the San Francisco RBI program as the female winner of its Volunteer of Excellence Award for her efforts in tutoring and mentoring elementary school students.

NWC honors Beatty

Pacific Lutheran junior baseball pitcher Max Beatty (Fort Vancouver High School) was named to the All-Northwest Conference Second Team.

He was also named NWC Pitcher of the Week for April 22-28.

Klettke second at UO

Lewis-Clark State’s Kelsey Klettke, a Prairie High School graduate, placed second in the 1,500 meters at the Oregon Twilight meet in Eugene.

Her time of 4 minutes, 38.78 seconds qualifies her for NAIA nationals.
