Over the past few days, two males in a dark SUV allegedly have tried to pick up children who were walking to school in Woodland, according to the Woodland Police Department.

Between 7 and 8 a.m. Wednesday, a large SUV with tinted windows was seen around Gun Club Road. Two males in the vehicle asked children who were walking to school if they wanted a ride, Woodland police said.

Woodland Intermediate School Principal Chris Wiseman sent a letter home with students Wednesday that told parents about the incident. In one case, a passenger in the vehicle tried to grab a child, but the child got away, the letter said.

Other area schools have been notified.

The SUV is described as a large dark or black SUV, possibly lowered with dark wheels and windows, and it might have some kind of white sticker on the back. The vehicle was parked at or near the Assembly of God Church, 360 Gun Club Road, and might also have been driving around the east side of Woodland.

If anyone sees the vehicle, police ask you write down the license number and report the SUV to police by calling 911 or the Woodland Police Station at 360-225-8981.
