Serena Williams may not follow Sloane Stephens on Twitter any more, but she’ll still say all the right things when asked about their rivalry in public.

After Williams defeated Lourdes Dominguez in the second round of the Madrid Open on Tuesday, reporters asked her about Stephens’ recent comments that paint Williams as a sore loser who ended their relationship after Stephens beat her in the Australian Open.

However, making a good P.R. move, Williams sidestepped the controversy and praised the up and coming Stephens.

“I’m a big Sloane Stephens fan and always have been,” Williams said. “I’ve always said that I think she can be the best in the world. I’ll always continue to think that and always be rooting for her.”

Here’s a story to make us all feel inadequate.

On Tuesday, the Phoenix Suns announced the hiring of their new general manager, Ryan McDonough — to be more precise, that’s 33-year-old Ryan McDonough.

McDonough joins the Doogie Howser list of pro sports: fresh-faced executives in power positions.

In 2005, Jon Daniels was 28 years, 41 days old when he became the Texas Rangers’ general manager and the youngest ever to hold that position in Major League Baseball history. Also, Howie Roseman was only 34 years old when tapped as the Philadelphia Eagles GM in 2010.
