Longtime Battle Ground City Councilor Bill Ganley announced Monday that he’ll seek re-election in November.

“I enjoy serving my community and believe I still have a lot to offer the citizens of Battle Ground,” he said in a statement. “I support keeping our taxes low while providing services to our citizens such as public safety, managing transportation issues and well-kept parks.”

Ganley has served on city council for five terms. Two of his terms were as mayor, a position Battle Ground councilors select internally.

A high school history teacher in the Battle Ground School District for 32 years, Ganley also has an interest in transportation strategies. He chairs the C-Tran Board of Directors and is a member of the Regional Transportation Council and the County Railroad Advisory Board.

Four of Battle Ground’s seven council seats will be up for grabs in November. Mayor Lisa Walters’ position will be open along with seats held by councilors Mike Ciraulo and Alex Reinhold.

In March, Mike Dalesandro, an operations manager, announced his intention to run for city council.
