Those interested in running for one of the public offices up for election this year must file paperwork with the Clark County Elections Department next week.
That filing process begins 8 a.m. Monday and ends 5 p.m. May 17. On those days, candidates can file in person during normal business hours at the elections department, 1408 Franklin St. in Vancouver.
Up for election this year are mayoral, city and town council, school district director, superior court, fire district commission, port district commission, cemetery and park commission and Clark Regional Wastewater District positions. Candidates must live in the district they plan to run in.
Candidates also can file online at http://clarkvotes.org. Online candidate filing begins 9 a.m. Monday and ends 4 p.m. May 17. Candidates filing online must have a valid email address, and they may pay any filing fee online using a Visa card or MasterCard.
