Want to be a Washington State Patrol trooper? The agency will test applicants 7:30 a.m. May 18 at its Southwest Washington headquarters, 11018 N.E. 51st St. Applicants should come prepared to complete physical and written exams.

District Five recruiter Trooper Jason Cuthbert said that although the State Patrol typically accepts applications online, walk-in applications will be accepted at the May 18 testing. Walk-in applicants still need to bring in a completed application.

The physical agility test comprises a one minute sit-up test, one minute push-up test and 11/2 mile run. Those who pass the physical test then will take the written exam after a short break.

Anyone with questions on the testing process should visit Washington State Patrol or call Cuthbert at 360-623-5103.
