For the sixth year, the League of American Bicyclists has named Washington the most bike-friendly state in the nation.
Oregon came in third, just behind Colorado. Minnesota and Delaware round out the top five.
The D.C.-based advocacy group ranked states based on five criteria: legislation and enforcement; policies and programs; infrastructure and funding; education and encouragement; and evaluation and planning.
In a statement released through the Bicycle Alliance of Washington, Gov. Jay Inslee said he’s proud the state has again claimed the title of most bike-friendly.
“Bicycles create jobs, connect communities and give Washingtonians healthier choices to get around,” he said.
