Fire destroyed a camp trailer parked in Lake Merwin Campers Hideaway north of Amboy early Monday morning.

Clark County Fire District 10 firefighters were dispatched to 24706 N.E. Columbia Tie Road at 2:44 a.m., where they found a trailer engulfed in flames, said Capt. Ben Goble. Six firefighters put out the blaze. Nobody was hurt and nothing else was damaged by the fire.

The trailer’s owner was not in camp at the time of the fire, Goble said.

The cause was not determined.

Campers Hideaway has 1,500 campsites that people can own and use for vacationing for up to 234 nonconsecutive overnight stays during the year. In addition to keeping a trailer at the site, members can build a deck, covering, shed, sun room and fire pit.
