A Woodland teen accidentally drove his pickup truck into a Papa Murphy’s just before noon Wednesday.

The 16-year-old, whose name was not available, somehow lost control of his Toyota TRD Off Road pickup and drove through the front door of the pizza store at 1999 Pacific Ave., said Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy, spokesman for Clark County Fire & Rescue.

CCF&R and Woodland police were dispatched to the shop at 11:55 a.m., where the glass door and several window panes were shattered. The front of the pickup was damaged.

The teen, who was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision, was not injured, Dawdy said. Although employees and customers were in the store, no one was hurt.

Neighboring stores in the building were evacuated while the pickup was towed, and they were later reopened. Papa Murphy’s was closed until late Wednesday afternoon.

Damage to the building is estimated at $12,000, Dawdy said. Papa Murphy’s is a Vancouver-based pizza chain that launched in 1990.
