Andrew Kaler and Grayson Anderson won two events each and the Camas girls swept the distance events as the Papermakers won both team titles Saturday at the Tiger Invitational track and field meet in Battle Ground.
Camas won the boys title with 121.15 points to outdistance Skyview’s 104.16. On the girls side, Camas also beat Skyview 112-94.
Kaler won the 800 meters in 1 minute, 58.75 seconds, edging out W.F. West’s Danny Robertson at the wire. He also won the 1,600 in 4:27.65.
Anderson, who placed third at state in the Class 3A high jump last year for Mountain View, won the 100 meters (11.62) and high jump (6 foot, 4 inches).
Other boys winners included Skyview’s Kevin Washington in the 200 (22.35), Prairie’s Garrett Baltazar in the 400 (51.24), Skyview’s Colby Gilbert in the 3,200 (9:04.30), Skyview’s Tony Sparrow in the 110 hurdles (15.72), Skyview’s Jabari Marshall in the javelin (170-1), Prairie’s James Phillips in the long jump (21-11) and Heritage’s Devin Scott in the triple jump (44-51/2).
In the girls meet, three different Camas runners won the three distance events — Alexa Efraimson in the 800 (2:13.63), Alissa Pudlitzke in the 1,600 (5:14.62) and Camille Parsons in the 3,200 (11:32.40). Camas’ Lauren Neff won the high jump at 5-4.
Skyview’s Aubrey Ward-El was dual event winner (shot put, 41-7; javelin, 126-11), as was Battle Ground’s Andrea Olstead (400, 1:00.50; triple jump, 33-81/4).
Other winners included Skyview’s Madison Lanford in the 100 hurdles (17.03), Fort Vancouver’s Mar’Shay Moore in the 300 hurdles (46.99) and Heritage’s Guadalupe Mendoza in the discus (107-11).
Girls tennis
Skyview wins Thunder Invitational — In a rematch of last year’s Class 4A district final, Sammi Hampton defeated Union’s Jelena Vidovic 6-1, 6-1 to win the singles title and help Skyview win the team title at the Thunder Invitational.
Prairie’s Akari Baba placed third in Flight 1 singles.
Mountain View’s Emma Raivio and Milla Benedetti beat Bainbridge Island’s Meghan Hill and Margaux Henderson 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 for the doubles championship. Union’s Rhainnon Morfin and Courtney Newell placed third.
Skyview won the team title, beating out Union, Prairie and host Mountain View.
Softball
Prairie sweeps Rogers — Taylor Bussey went 4 for 4 with a two-run home runs and three RBI in the opener as Prairie swept Rogers of Puyallup 12-5 and 6-4.
Kayla Bergerson went 2 for 3 with two RBI in the second game.
