Opponents of a proposed light rail line in Vancouver will gather for a fundraising event this Saturday.
A group of citizens earlier this year filed a lawsuit challenging the state law that invalidated an anti-light rail petition. The petition would limit the city of Vancouver’s ability to use public resources on light rail. Opponents of light rail, planned as part of the Columbia River Crossing project, have pushed to put the issue on the ballot.
Saturday’s gathering is intended to raise money to cover legal fees associated with the lawsuit. The event will last from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Java House, 210 W. Evergreen Blvd.
