Jordan Boldt is winner of the 2013 General George C. Marshall Public Leadership Award.

Boldt is the 24th recipient of the annual community award honoring the legacy of one-time Vancouver resident George C. Marshall.

It was one of two awards presented Wednesday by the Fort Vancouver National Trust.

The General George C. Marshall Youth Leadership Award was presented to Mountain View High School senior Natalie Lucey.

The dinner featured a keynote address by Brian Shaw, president of the General George C. Marshall Foundation, based in Lexington, Va.

Boldt is the executive director of the Vancouver Farmers Market, and responsible for managing more than 175 vendors that serve approximately 15,000 people each weekend during the market’s open season.

In a nomination form, Boldt was credited with having “performed admirably” in that role. “The last two seasons have been especially good for the market, with increased numbers of patrons and vendors. Even the donations for parking are up.”

In addition to his work at the market, Boldt is a volunteer firefighter for the Camas-Washougal Fire Department. Boldt is a graduate of Clark College and Washington State University Vancouver.

Boldt will travel to Lexington, Va., to tour the Marshall Foundation, and to Colonial Williamsburg and Washington, D.C. He also will participate in the Fort Vancouver National Trust’s 2013 Celebrate Freedom programs.

Natalie Lucey, winner of the Marshall Youth Leadership Award, was nominated by local leaders from the American Red Cross. They cited her community involvement and ability to inspire and organize as a Youth Council leader.
