Diamond dog-rescue collar goes to Felida family

Felida — Asha the dog sure has excellent support. Readers of the Neighbors section may recall an “Everybody Has A Story” that ran in May 2012 featuring the Australian shepherd, who was born deaf and blind and adopted at five months from the Oregon Humane Society by Felida residents Tracy and Trevor Bryant. The Bryants provided a trainer, an acupuncturist and a food therapist to help Asha get settled and feel comfortable; Tracy reported last year that Asha was feeling “strong and happy, confident and inquisitive.”

Last month, the Asha and the Bryants were awarded a Diamond Collar Hero award by OHS for their amazing shared accomplishment. You can read Tracy Bryant’s story of Asha at columbian.com, and see an OHS video about Asha at http://youtu.be/p1fnN8hW2DQ.
