James Murphy, executive vice president-international for Costco Wholesale, will speak at 7:10 p.m. April 2 at the University of Portland, 5000 N. Willamette Blvd. in Portland.
Murphy will discuss aspects of his career that have shaped his leadership philosophy. He directs Costco’s activities and expansion of North America and also is also responsible for the company’s U.S.-based global buying and export groups. Murphy joined Costco in 1987 as the warehouse manager in Portland. He received an MBA from the University of Portland in 1991 and is a member of the University of Portland’s Board of Regents.
His talk, in the Bauccio Commons Board Room, is sponsored by the Pamplin School of Business Administration.
