A 14-year-old Portland girl is helping raise money for the Vancouver-based animal rescue organization, Panda Paws Rescue, which takes in disabled dogs. Like some of the dogs Panda Paws helps, Jazmine Granger needs assistance to get around. She has cerebral palsy and depends on a wheelchair.

Instead of having a party and accepting gifts for her Feb. 14 birthday, she decided to raise funds for the organization. London, the two-legged pit bull who gained national attention for his recovery story, will attend the fundraiser birthday party 6:30 to 8 p.m March 9 at Motocorsa, 2170 N.W. Wilson St., in Northwest Portland. Those who attend can meet London and take photos with him.
