Downtown Vancouver’s Asian Mini Mart to close its doors Friday

The Asian Mini Mart at 812 Columbia St. in downtown Vancouver will close its doors Friday as part of a business move to Southern California, a store spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday.

The company’s owner, Jaehee Kim, will not renew the store’s lease with the Al Angelo Co., which owns the retail ground-floor retail space in the Heritage Place Condominium building next to Esther Short Park.

Store spokeswoman Ginhee Gentle said Kim will move two former Vancouver stores south: the mini mart and the former Young Arts boutique and art lessons studio. That business, formerly located at the corner of Eighth and Esther streets, closed in late March.
