Fisher’s Landing — Kjer Galbraith, 16, has been invited to help design a human mission to Mars as well as take on challenges in robotics, planetary landers and payload lofting systems. It’s all part of Washington Aerospace Scholars, a competitive program for high school juniors based at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Kjer, who is home schooled, is one of 160 students chosen for this second-phase educational experience, out of 285 who completed the first phase online. A six-day stay at a local hotel is provided free by the WAS Foundation. Learn more at http://www.museumofflight.org/was.
