Hockinson High School graduate Nick Cody was one of 15 players released Saturday by the Edmonton Eskimos, just days after the Canadian Football League team signed the former University of Oregon offensive lineman.

Early Sunday morning, Cody (@justfollow61) posted on Twitter: “Well Canada, Edmonton, its been real… Real short, real shady, and most of all a real learning experience. Good luck to all my OL guys.”

Responding later Sunday to a “sad 2 see u go” message from a fan, Cody responded: “Didn’t get the look I expected but had a great time when I did get to wear the green and gold.”

The Eskimos beat the B.C. Lions 27-22 in a preseason game Saturday in Vancouver.

The Edmonton Journal published a feature on Cody — http://tinyurl.com/molfeq6 — last Thursday.
