Two Vancouver men will face robbery charges after allegedly uttering racial slurs and attacking two other men in Water Works Park on Thursday.
Just before 6 p.m., Daniel Williams, 31, and Jedehiah Miller, 30, approached two men in the park and used a racial slur as they kicked and punched one of the men, according to the probable cause affidavit, a court document outlining law enforcement’s rationale for an arrest.
During the assault, Williams took the man’s backpack and wallet before he and Miller fled, the affidavit states.
When police arrived, witnesses identified Miller and Williams as those involved in the strong-armed robbery. Police recovered the backpack but the wallet and some cash remain outstanding.
