The Fort Vancouver National Trust is seeking 300 volunteers to help out during Vancouver’s July 4 celebration.

In 2012, more than 250 volunteers helped at the event — known formally as Independence Day at Fort Vancouver presented by Bank of America — which was attended by more than 35,000 people.

Individuals, service organizations and corporate groups all can volunteer to sell and collect tickets, work at an information booth, serve water at a water wagon, or work at a parking lot or in the adult beverage pavilion.

Applications are at http://fortvan.org/fourth. Volunteers may request certain jobs and shifts, although the trust may not be able to accommodate all requests.

For information, call 360-992-1808 or email natalie.crippen@fortvan.org.

Volunteer shifts are just a few hours of work in addition to a short training session before the event day, according to a news release. All volunteers receive a free ($5) admission, a ($10) parking pass, a volunteer T-shirt and a reusable water bottle.
