Alex Torres just made his dream come true.
He is one of the 1,386 Americans who are going to race at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch.
Torres, a 15-year-old from Camas, qualified for the AMA Loretta Lynn National Motocross Championship, July 28 to Aug. 3, in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. He spent the last four months working his way to the top of his region to earn this opportunity.
“The Amateur Nationals at Loretta Lynn’s is the event every motocross racer in the country wants to compete in,” said executive director Tim Cotter.
Professional riders such as James Stewart, Ricky Carmichael, Travis Pastrana and Jeremy McGrath have won AMA Amateur National Championships at Loretta Lynn’s. The event has become the largest and most prestigious amateur motocross race in the world.
