A Vancouver man died Thursday from injuries he suffered in a June 6 motorcycle accident.
Martin Harris, 55, was taken off life support after a week at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Police said Harris was riding a Honda Trail 90 motorcycle east on McLoughlin Boulevard just west of Clark College when a westbound 1999 Audi A6 turned left in front of him.
The driver of the Audi, Brienne J. Schneider, 29, of Portland, made the left turn into a day care facility and didn’t see the oncoming motorcycle, stopping in the eastbound lane just prior to Harris’ crashing into the car, Vancouver Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said. The low-speed crash occurred about 7:45 a.m.
Kapp said the traffic investigation unit has determined that the cause of the crash was Schneider’s failure to yield. The investigation, however, is ongoing and no citations have been issued, she said.
