A WORKSHOP designed to create a space where Sikh teenagers are given the tools to understand Sikh history and the foundations of its traditions, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 22 at 3600 O St. The workshop, “Teenagers in America,” is hosted by the Guru Ramdass Sikh Community of Vancouver and Portland. The workshop is intended to be a safe and welcoming place for teens to ask questions and feel heard. THE REV. KENNETH CAMPBELL of St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Camas will lead members of First, Cascades, East Woods and Columbia Presbyterian Churches and St. John’s Presbyterian in Camas, in a ground blessing of Churches in Partnership Community Garden at 2 p.m. Sunday June 23 at the Clark County Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th Street. The produce raised by volunteers from the five churches and community members will be distributed through the Clark County Food Bank and local food pantries.

THE REV. RICK JAECH, pastor of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, was elected bishop of the Southwestern Washington Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in early June in Tacoma. Jaech will serve a six-year term that oversees nearly 90 congregations and worshiping groups from south of Seattle to the Oregon border, and from the Cascades to the Pacific beaches. Jaech has led Our Savior since 1987.
