Northeast 137th Avenue at 39th Street will be closed 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday as crews place a base level of asphalt mix on a new roundabout.
Detour signs and flaggers will guide motorists, who are asked to proceed with caution through residential neighborhoods and keep an eye out for pedestrians and bicyclists, said Loretta Callahan, spokeswoman for Vancouver’s public works department.
Later this summer, half-intersection closures are expected when crews place the final concrete top surface of the Northeast 39th Street roundabout.
Contractor Nutter Corp. will work with residents to provide access and coordinate with Evergreen Public Schools, C-Tran and emergency service providers, Callahan said.
