LNG terminal seeks permit

The company planning to build a liquefied natural gas terminal near the mouth of the Columbia River has filed for a federal permit.

Warrenton-based Oregon LNG says the application filed Friday with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will outweigh Clatsop County opposition.

The terminal would cost an estimated $6.3 billion. Another LNG export terminal is proposed at Coos Bay.
