The moon and Saturn are expected to be the big attractions at a sky-viewing event Saturday.

The session is free and open to the public; it will run from 8:30 to 11 p.m. at the Walmart at 221 N.E. 104th Ave.

“The rings of Saturn will be beautifully presented for view,” said Stan Seeberg, with Vancouver Sidewalk Astronomers.

The group is co-sponsoring the event with Rose City Astronomers and Southwest Washington Stargazers.

The sun will set at 8:59 p.m. Saturday; the 8:30 p.m. start will provide a chance to examine telescopes before it gets too dark.

The event depends on weather conditions, so call Walmart after 7 p.m. Saturday at 360-885-0734 to confirm.
