A 23-year-old man pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Clark County Superior Court to charges related to an allegedly gang-related stabbing May 31 at an apartment on Bridge Street in Vancouver.
Bradley M. Solis, address unknown, is charged with one count of first-degree assault. Solis is a member of the Norteno street gang, court records state.
Judge John Nichols ordered Solis held on $250,000 bail and appointed attorney Tony Lowe to defend Solis. The defendant’s trial is tentatively set for Aug. 5.
The male victim of the stabbing remains in critical condition in a local hospital, according to a probable cause affidavit. His age was not released in court records.
Solis, also known as “Ryder,” is accused of stabbing the victim three times in the abdomen inside the apartment in the 3200 block of Bridge after the two argued, records indicate.
Solis, along with his girlfriend, then allegedly fled the scene.
Both Solis and the victim had been staying at the residence before the stabbing, according to court records. Solis also allegedly had told their host that the victim needed to leave or there would be “problems.”
Solis was recently released from prison on a 2012 conviction for making a bomb threat and making a false statement to a public official, records said.
The Norteno gang is concentrated in Vancouver’s Rose Village and Fruit Valley areas, but their activities aren’t limited to those two neighborhoods, said Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.
