REDMOND, Ore. — Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies say a Vancouver man was badly hurt in an all-terrain vehicle crash south of Redmond, but two other riders — including a 5-year-old girl — escaped serious injuries.

KTVZ-TV reported that deputies were dispatched to the crash scene shortly before 8:30 p.m. Saturday. They found 54-year-old Bradley Wegner seriously injured. The other two riders were 54-year-old James Cook, of Redmond, who had minor injuries, and the young girl, who wasn’t hurt.

Wegner was flown to a hospital in Bend. He was not listed as a patient Sunday at either the Bend or Redmond hospitals.

None of the three was wearing a helmet or other protective gear. It wasn’t clear what caused the crash.
