This weekend’s Steam Logging Show will be the final year for this event at the Pomeroy Living History Farm. Visitors can experience the sights, sounds and smells of a 1920s logging camp, with two steam donkeys, period saws, trucks and other equipment.

2. Get out!
The fifth annual National Get Outdoors Day will fill the grounds of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site with activities and ideas for motivating families to explore the outdoors. Visitors can try archery or disc golf, meet Smokey the Bear and his forest friends, learn about local hiking trails or tackle water obstacles and agility courses. Many organizations will be on hand giving demonstrations. The fort also will host a Brigade Encampment, featuring costumed re-enactors from the Hudson’s Bay Company outside Pearson Air Museum.

3. Youth festival
The annual Camtown Youth Festival, sponsored by Camas Parks and Recreation and Camas School District, celebrates all the children in town. The festival features an art show, mechanical bull ride, crafts, an obstacle course, carnival games, petting zoo, a dunk tank and demonstrations. Kids can sell or trade homemade arts and crafts or unwanted toys at a children’s flea market, with vendor spaces for $10 to $20. Vendors provide their own tables, chairs, canopy and other supplies and equipment.
