Homebuilding activity surged in unincorporated Clark County in May, according to a report that tracks permits for single-family homes.
The county’s Department of Community Development issued 98 permits to build houses last month. It was a 53 percent increase over the 64 permits issued in the same month last year and 27 percent higher than the 77-permit total in April.
The month’s housing permits were valued at $33.1 million, up from $18.3 million in the same month last year, the development department said.
