Free summer lunches offered for kids ages 1-18

Children and teens from 1 to 18 years old can eat free, nutritious lunches this summer through the Simplified Summer Food Program for Children. The program is funded through a grant from the Department of Agriculture and administered by Educational Service District 112.

Meals are offered June 24 through Aug. 9. Children need not attend any of the schools; all children are welcome. The program will be offered at the following schools:

• Fruit Valley Elementary: noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, 3410 Fruit Valley Road.

• Ellsworth Elementary: noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 512 S.E. Ellsworth Road.

• Hearthwood Elementary: noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 801 N.E. Hearthwood Blvd.

• Pioneer Elementary: noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 7212 N.E. 166th Ave.
