Rhona Sen Hoss will become the next executive director of the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools under an agreement between the foundation and Vancouver Public Schools.

The appointment is subject to approval by the boards of directors of both organizations. Sen Hoss will start the position July 1. She replaces Tara Taylor, who led the foundation for three years.

“I’ve always had a passion for education,” Sen Hoss said. “Our boys are fourth-generation college graduates. Education is paramount because it levels the playing field.”

As assistant director of development at Washington State University Vancouver, Sen Hoss led an initiative targeting high-tech companies and increased director program scholarships for engineering and computer science.

She leaves WSU Vancouver on June 30. In that position, she was paid $65,000 in 2011. The salary for the new position was not available.

From 1998 to 2010 she was the community partnerships manager at The Columbian.
