Skyview band earns Starlight Parade honor

The Skyview High School Marching Band took top band honors Saturday night at the Portland General Electric/SOLVE Starlight Parade, winning the sweepstakes award.

Four other Clark County bands and one individual also won awards.

Union High School took first place in the category of out-of-state bands with 100 or more members. Mountain View High took second place and Heritage High took third in that category.Hudson’s Bay High School won the category of out-of-state bands with 99 or fewer members.

Kaleb Kallappa, 22, of Vancouver won the wheelchair division of the Legacy Health Starlight Run.

The parade and run were in downtown Portland.
