Deer-resistant plants: 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 17. Learn to design your landscape with varieties that are naturally not that appetizing to deer.

Go Green and Clean: 10:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 at Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St., Columbia room, Level 1. Learn how you can replace expensive and potentially toxic cleaners for a healthier environment for your family and pets. Watershed Stewards of Clark County will provide tips on green cleaning using inexpensive household products. Free.

Washington State University Extension Clark County master gardener volunteer training: The 12-week training begins Sept. 4 and continues Wednesdays through Nov. 27 from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Upon completion, new volunteers are expected to complete a 50-hour internship in their first year and serve 35 hours yearly thereafter to maintain certification.
