The sidewalk on the northbound Interstate 5 Bridge will close at noon Wednesday, July 31, for 10 days for a maintenance project.
The southbound sidewalk will remain open, according to a news release from the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The northbound sidewalk on the bridge will close around-the-clock through Aug. 9 as a contractor works on the steel gussets along the side of the bridge.
During the 10-day sidewalk closure, signs will be in place to direct people to the southbound sidewalk.
The sidewalk closure is needed so the contractor can use equipment for workers to lower themselves over the side of the bridge to perform repairs.
