It may have only lasted two pitches, but Tuesday’s outing was one Steve Ames won’t forget.

The Hudson’s Bay graduate and Miami Marlins reliever made his Major League debut in the seventh inning at Miami’s Marlins Park.

With Miami trailing 2-0, Ames was called in to face Mets all-star David Wright with two out and a runner on first. Wright flied out to center field on the second pitch.

Miami acquired Ames in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 6. He had been with Triple-A New Orleans until Sunday, when Miami placed reliever Kevin Slowey on the 15-day DL.

Miami lost 4-2 in 10 innings.
