Hudson’s Bay — The private parcel that used to host the neighborhood’s community garden at Eighth and T streets was sold this spring, according to the latest Hudson’s Bay Neighborhood Association newsletter. But thanks to the generosity of some nearby neighbors, the garden simply moved down the street to a plot on Eighth just west of Grand. “What was initially a maze of weeds and blackberries is now has rows of raised beds and cultivated plots,” the newsletter says. A Clark College organic gardening club has joined in, too, contributing a great deal of tough weed and blackberry clearing. The neighborhood holds regular Wednesday evening potlucks at the new site, and is planning a garden party at 2 p.m. Aug. 17. Call Madeleine at 360-735-9588 to learn more.
