The 12-team field is set for the Junior Baseball Western Regional, which begins on Wednesday at Clark College.
The tournament for players of Little League ages 13-14 runs through Aug. 7 at Kindsfather Field, the Clark College baseball facility.
Host team Central Vancouver plays at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Central Vancouver opens against Oregon champion Parrish of Salem. On Friday, Central Vancouver takes on Woodcreek of Roseville, Calif. Central Vancouver’s third pool-play game is against West Valley of Yakima, which edged Vancouver’s Cascade Little League for the Washington state title.
Also joining Central Vancouver in Pool 1 are teams from Anchorage, Alaska, and Nampa Valley, Idaho.
Playing in Pool 2 will be teams from Maui, Hawai’i; Rio Rico, Ariz.; Missoula, Mont., Cedar City, Utah; Reno, Nevada; and La Mirada, Calif.
On Wednesday, games are at 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., with an opening ceremony at noon. For the remainder of pool play, games are scheduled for 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. The top two teams from each six-team pool will play in the semifinals on Aug. 6. The championship game is at 5 p.m. on Aug. 7.
Columbia Credit Union is the title sponsor for this tournament, which last summer was played at Hudson’s Bay High School’s Propstra Stadium. Tickets cost $5 per day, or $25 per family for a pass to the entire tournament.
Senior Baseball — Columbia Little League’s all-star baseball team in the 15-16 age group begins play Tuesday at the Western Regional tournament in Ontario, Calif.
Columbia takes on Pearl City, Hawai’i, at 9 a.m. Tuesday to begin the Senior League regional at Jay Littleton Baseball Park. The Washington state champions, Columbia will play one game each day for seven days. The top two teams at the end of the round-robin schedule will play on Aug. 6 for the regional title.
Players for Columbia’s Senior League baseball team are: Isaiah Av, Jacob Brugman, Antonio Butler, Jose Kumoi, Kalil Leggett, Toby Newell, Colton Quintana, Josh Saylors, Tylor Sharp, Seth Stroup, Kody Ulrich and Marquece Williams. The manager is Stuart Stroup, assisted by coaches Anthony Barrett and Michael Sharp.

Big League softball — Columbia Little League’s all-stars lost their first two games at the Western Regional in Lancaster, Calif. Columbia was scheduled to play the Arizona champions on Monday. Results from that game were not reported.
Big League softball is for girls ages 17-18. Columbia and Arizona play at 5 p.m. today for third place.

Senior Babe Ruth — KWRL Centerfield begins round robin play in the 10-team Pacific Northwest Regional in Klamath Falls on Wednesday.
Centerfield will play Idaho at 4:30 p.m. Next will be South Oregon on Thursday and Wyoming on Friday.
13-year-old Babe Ruth — Hazel Dell Metro opens Pacific Northwest regional at 5 p.m. today in Centralia against Idaho.
Hazel Dell will then play South Oregon at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Alberta at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, and round out pool play at 5 p.m. Friday against North Oregon.
Semifinals and final of both Babe Ruth tournaments are Saturday and Sunday.
