The second annual day of service organized by Clark County Connects is set for Sept. 14, and everyone is invited to get involved.

Clark County Connects is an association of nonprofit and service-oriented local organizations that came together to launch this annual outing, beginning last year.

“We had nearly 1,500 volunteers join us last year, and this year we hope to significantly increase that number,” said Gary Bock, a member of the organizing committee.

Service organizations and volunteers can all sign up for projects via the website, http://www.clarkcountyconnects.org. Or try Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ClarkCountyConnects. A wide variety of projects are available, from cleaning up Scotch broom and blackberries in Washougal to spiffing up historic cemeteries in Vancouver to harvesting carrots at Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St.
