A 28-year-old Amboy man ended up at a local hospital Thursday morning after an apparent hit-and-run accident in the Chelatchie Prairie area.
But it was multiple shocks from a deputy’s Taser weapon, not the crash, that put him there.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. near the intersection of Northeast 433rd Street and Northeast 285th Avenue with Highway 503.
According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn, a Clark County sheriffs’ deputy saw a pickup truck run past a stop sign. The driver then turned left, striking an oncoming vehicle.

No one was hurt, but as the deputy tried to question the driver, he allegedly tried to walk away from the scene and resisted orders to put his hands behind his back. The deputy delivered multiple electric shocks with his Taser weapon before the man could be subdued.
Klinton Livingston was arrested and taken to the Clark County Jail and booked on suspicion of hit-and-run driving after being examined at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.
The driver of the other vehicle was identified as James Pryse, 76, of Arizona.
The state patrol’s investigation is continuing, Finn said.
