The Vancouver Police Department will host a ceremony tomorrow to recognize officers and everyday people who went beyond the call of duty.
The agency will present departmental awards including the Medal of Valor, Life Saving, Special Service and Police Activities League recognition. New police officers will also be sworn in.
The ceremony, which is open to the public, begins 1 p.m. Thursday at the Water Resource Education Center, 4600 S.E. Columbia Way.
