Visitors can test their taste buds during Fire in the Park as local restaurants, organizations and firefighters showcase their secret chili recipes while raising money for the nonprofit Share. The best dish awards will be named by judges and the public. Local crew members will race in the Firefighters Competition, with participants completing different training obstacles. There will also be live music by High Point and One of a Kind Drumline, children’s activities and fire apparatus displays.

Harvest a little fun
The Children’s Parade will kick off today’s events at the 53rd annual Battle Ground Harvest Days. The children’s parade begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Harvest Days Grand parade at 10 a.m. Throughout the day, there will be an art show, a geocaching challenge, children’s activities, a talent show and musical performances including Jesse Holyk, the Concrete Cowboys and Flexor T. On Sunday, the Harvest Hay Half, a half-marathon benefiting the North County Community Food Bank, starts at 7:30 a.m., followed by an 8K and a Family Fun Run.
