A weather system that brought muggy conditions and a few scattered drops of rain to the area Tuesday will linger this morning.
The National Weather Service reports the morning clouds will come with a few isolated showers or thundershowers.
The low-pressure system moved into the area early on Tuesday, bringing cloudy, humid weather reminiscent of summers elsewhere. It still reached 90 degrees at Vancouver’s Pearson Field.
A few drops of rain fell in widely scattered neighborhoods including downtown and Felida, though no measurable precipitation was recorded at Pearson.
Today, the weak disturbance should move out of the area by early afternoon, leading to clearing skies. The forecast:
Today: Isolated showers and thunderstorms before 8a.m. Cloudy through midmorning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 80. South-southeast winds around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. North northwest wind around 7 mph.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 85. Northwest wind around 6 mph.
Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56. Northwest wind 7 to 11 mph.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 87. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.
