Summer in the City

It’s officially “Summer in the City.” The cities of Camas and Washougal, that is.

And next to the beautiful weather that has graced the area during the past few weeks, the best indication of this are the many events and activities on the calendar that bring these communities together, and welcome visitors to see all that this corner of Southwest Washington has to offer.

July began with a car show that attracted hundreds of people to downtown Camas. The event offered music, entertainment and classic cars.

This week, the “Welcome racing fans,” signs have begun to be displayed at local businesses, as the largest sporting event in Clark County will officially get underway on Thursday at the Washougal Motocross Park. This AMA Nationals event, which has been going on in our community for nearly 30 years now, will attract upwards of 20,000 people to Washougal. For those who haven’t attended this iconic event, it’s an incredible spectacle that everyone — even those who aren’t diehard racing fans — should experience at least once.

Then just around the corner, there’s Camas Days and Spartan Race, and smaller events like Movies at Crown Park and the Riverside Concert Series at the Port of Camas-Washougal Marina,

With events large and small, Camas and Washougal offer its residents and visitors many opportunities to experience “Summer in the City.”
