Youth ball: Ridgefield Little League stays alive at state

Ridgefield stayed alive, but Camas was eliminated on Monday from the Washington State Little League Baseball Tournament at Luke Jensen Sports Park in Vancouver.

Ridgefield beat Walla Walla Pacific 9-3. Its next loser-out game is at 4:30 on Wednesday against Pacific of Lynnwood.

Camas lost 7-2 to Greater Richland on Monday, ending its season.

Big League (17-18) baseball — Lake Oswego beat Vancouver 10-9 on the first day of pool play at the Western regional in Bremerton.

Vancouver led 9-3 after scoring nine runs in the top of the fourth, but Lake Oswego rallied and won the game in the 10th inning. Vancouver’s next game is at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Babe Ruth 13s — Hazel Dell Metro beat Kelso on Sunday at Louis Bloch Park in Camas for the district title. Metro plays Twin Cities at 6 p.m. Wednesday to open pool play in the state tournament at Longview.

Babe Ruth 14s — The team from Kalama, Woodland, Ridgefield and La Center opens the state tournament at 1 p.m. today against Longview in Hoquiam.

Babe Ruth 15s — KWRL opened pool play on Monday at the Southern Washington tournament in Pasco. Results were not reported.

Senior (15-16) baseball — Results were not reported from the loser-out game Hazel Dell played on Monday at the Harmony Sports Complex. Columbia of Vancouver takes on Sky Valley at 5:30 p.m. today in a game between the two remaining unbeaten teams.

9-10 softball — Battle Ground and Columbia stayed alive in the state tournament with wins on Monday at La Center. Battle Ground and Columbia play loser-out games again at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Junior (13-14) softball — Cascade was eliminated from state, falling 9-7 to East Jefferson/Sequim.
