The Port of Camas-Washougal is seeking input from area residents as it plans to revitalize some of the former Hambleton Lumber Company site.

The plan is to include a park and a trail at 335 S. “A” St., Washougal, that will connect to other area trails in the future.

An open house on waterfront revitalization will be held Tuesday, July 30, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., in the port office meeting room, 24 S. “A” St., Washougal. Topics will include recreation, cleanup and trail design.

The port invites residents to take a survey at www.portcw.com. It seeks input regarding recreational facilities currently available on port properties, development of the waterfront and design ideas for a new waterfront trail and park.

Berger/ABAM, of Vancouver, is involved in the development of a trail design.

Last year, the property sale from Hambleton Brothers Lumber Company, Inc., to Killian Pacific totalled approximately 26.5 acres. The port purchased one-half of the parcel with $6.07 million in reserves.

Killian Pacific, a commercial real-estate development and investment company, has created The Crossing and Evergreen Marketplace, in Washougal, as well as the Grand Central and Riverstone Marketplace developments, in Vancouver. Lance Killian has said Killian Pacific intends to continue to collaborate with the port on the eventual development of the area.
