An all-weekend paving job on Interstate 84 in east Portland is causing some gridlock on Interstate 5.
The paving began on Friday night, and on Saturday traffic was backed up on Interstate 5 northbound. The Oregon Department of Transportation was closing access to northbound I-5 at Morrison Street until conditions improve.
Paving is going on along Interstate 84, leading to motorists being unable to go east on I-84 from northbound I-5.
The closure is expected to last until 5 a.m. Monday.
